AUTHOR’S NOTE ON THE DRUKPA ORDER –

The Public Affairs Office of the Drukpa Order has pointed to an error on page 28 of The Saffron Road: A Journey with Buddha’s Daughters, in which it is wrongly stated that the Drukpa Order is a branch of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. This is incorrect. The Drukpa Order is an independent school of Himalayan Buddhism, headed by the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa, Jigme Pema Wangchen, and was founded a millennium ago. Many apologies for this misunderstanding.
